Big Daddy’s Wedding

January 29, 2012 :: Filed under iPhone

Today was Big Daddy’s big day. We all travelled to Rocky Mount, NC to witness his marriage to Nancy Ward. I shot the M6 and iPhone. Here are a few moments from the phone.

Lola was the flower girl. She was awesome, even without rehearsing.

Bid Daddy and Nancy Ward decided to face the audience during the ceremony instead of having their backs turned so everyone could see them better.

A warm receiving line afterward went on for quite a while. Everyone was so happy for them and their new life together.

My favorite shot of the day, Big Daddy hugging Mollie after the wedding. Mollie has selflessly cared for Big Daddy for the last 2.5 years. I’ll never forget the consistent patience and kindness she showed him every day. No doubt an example to me. I’ll cherish this image as a final memory to this chapter in our lives. Thank you Mollie.

Big Daddy, we are so happy for you and Nancy Ward. We hope you have many happy years ahead together.

Big Daddy & Nancy Ward

I’ve been living with my grandfather, whom we refer to as Big Daddy, for the past 2 and a half years.  Tomorrow morning he’s moving out  to start a new chapter in his life with Nancy Ward. Their wedding is just under two weeks from now and Big Daddy will be staying with his sister near her to finish the final wedding preparations.

Last Friday he brought her over for dinner so we could all meet her. Here are a few shots from that night. I suppose these are their engagement pictures in a way.

This is a pretty big transition for our family, but we are very happy for Big Daddy. We know he is very excited and we are excited for him.

Me With My Kids on Christmas Day 2012

After we got home from our Christmas day service, I handed the Leica to Mollie and she took this. It’s one of my favorite images ever.
