Mimi One Year Ago

March 27, 2010 :: Filed under Personal, Polaroid

It was one year ago today that Mimi passed. It’s hard to believe it’s been that long. We now live in her old house and Big Daddy is with us here too. I told Big Daddy today that I think she’d be pretty happy to know our situation here.

We went by her grave today and I took these two polaroids to remember it. Above is her grave stone with her favorite color flowers. Mollie mentioned that right away when we got there. Below is Lola, one of Mimi’s great grandchildren. Lola got her first haircut today, and it kind of looks like childhood pictures of Mimi.

Big Daddy has been sharing some of Mimi’s journal writings with us. Yesterday he sent this quote:

“Love is seeking the highest good for others whether they deserve it or not. Therefore, Love is an action – not a passion. Marraige is not so much finding the right person as it is being the right person. The surest way to be fully loved is to love fully.”
- Elizabeth Gurganus

No doubt, Mimi fully loved and was fully loved in return. Today we remember her and are thankful again for her impact on our lives.

Ok…maybe not featured, but I made it in anyway. I have a photograph printed on p.171
It’s less than a 1/2 inch square, but hey, I’m just glad to be in. Thanks to Bryan Martin for pulling me in on this creation of his.

That little black square is a shot of the last Greenville Drive game of the 2008 season. Experience Happy in Greenville for yourself.
