Photo Illustrations
I recently completed a photo illustration project for Portland Studios. Chris Koelle and I collaborated to create 8 images on a royalty theme. I took all the photographs and did some post production, and Chris did all the illustration over the top of the images.
In addition to these 8 pieces, Justin Gerard of Portland Studios completed two large digital paintings on the same theme. I felt the project turned out really well. I was pleased with the final prints when they came in. The final images are now framed and in the client’s office. You can see them in place over at the Portland Blog. Additionally, you can catch a glimpse of Justin’s work, which, as usual is stunning.
Here are the pieces we created. All of them were printed at 20×24 inches accept for the last image which was printed at 24×36 inches.
This checker pattern is a close up shot of my son Jude’s shoe.
This shiny fur texture is from the bear sculpture, a classic photo spot, at the Greenville Zoo. If you’ve ever been you’ll know what I’m talking about.
